Introduction

We at ChannelManager always strive to provide best in class safety and security for our valuable Hoteliers and their customer's Information. We understand the gravity and the importance of data security in today's digital age, and thus we have introduced this feature to ensure that the data of our customers is as protected as possible from unauthorized login or phishing attempts.

What Is Two Factor Authentication?

Two Factor Authentication is an extra layer of protection when logging in to ensure the security of your ChannelManager system and protects from anyone unauthorized being able to access your system.

How does it work? (`Click here for help Video )

When any CM user logs in to ChannelManager from any device, they will be first asked to enter their Username and Password (The 1st Factor of Authentication), once they do that, they will be redirected to a new screen where they will be asked to enter a Pin which is automatically sent to their registered email with ChannelManager. (The 2nd Factor of Authentication). This email is automatically sent by the system as soon as the username and password are submitted by the user.

The User then needs to enter the PIN which is already sent to their registered email address and click on the submit tab to access the ChannelManager Account.

The PIN which is sent at email address will be valid for 24 Hours from the time it is delivered to the email address.

Receive PIN via SMS

We understand that users may not have access to the registered email address all the time, and thus we have also provided an option to receive the PIN via Text Message on their registered mobile number.

To receive the PIN via text message at the registered mobile number, the user needs to select the Radio button of SMS and then click on Regenerate PIN Button.

Trust this Machine

We are aware that it can be time consuming to enter the PIN on a daily basis so we have also provided a way for our customers to use the same PIN for a period of time and login quickly to their account.

When the user ticks the box for the Trust this machine, then the user won’t need to enter the code repeatedly for that particular system everyday. The system will ask the user to enter the PIN at a regular interval (after a few days).

If the user uses multiple devices to access ChannelManager, then they need to tick the box for Trust this Machine for all those devices and then enter the PIN. (Make sure to tick the box first and then click on the Submit tab).

** If the user changes the system, the browser on which the machine was selected as a Trusted device or updates the browser version or clears the Cache and Cookies of the browser, the system will again ask for the PIN.

For example, if a user has a laptop and uses Google Chrome browser, and has ticked the box for Trust this Machine, then the system will not ask for PIN for that system and Google Chrome browser for a fixed time frame.

Now if the user accesses ChannelManager using the same Laptop but uses Fire Fox browser instead of Google Chrome, in that case they will be required to enter the PIN (regardless of they are using the same laptop).

This applies the same for the devices as well, so if the user uses another computer and uses Google Chrome, then also the system will ask for the PIN (as the device they had ticked as Trust this Machine has changed)
